America on Fire

So, Donald Trump won the presidency… Also, one of the biggest inaugural protests in U.S. history happened. 2016, and maybe 2017 too, have been terrible; especially in the American political game. Ever since the beginning of the election or really when Trump announced that he will run is when, i feel, the closeted racists came out of the closet. And i feel that a huge contributor to that was Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and even Instagram gave these closeted racists a way to connect and encourage each other with their ideals. Now I’m not saying that every Trump supporter is a racists, some people voted for him with reservation or with doubts. What I’m saying is that this group of racists have somehow spawned and they are only half of the problem.

The other half would be certain people who, at the sight of a Trump poster would start to yell at them because of their political views. Now, again, I’m not saying all liberals are crazy but then again this encouraged behavior, I feel, is from social media where people can connect from different states and encourage each others behavior.

Because our nation is so divided, it’s very important to keep a level head and try and see things from a different point of view. Instead of escalating a violent scenario, take a step back. It’s better to walk away from someone who disagrees with you rather than to forcefully make them agree with you.
